Organising the annual Winter Drive, Women’s Month, and Festive Season CSR initiatives provides a fantastic opportunity for the committee to involve staff in making a meaningful impact on the community.

Winter Drive

Our focus is on providing warmth and essential items to vulnerable groups during the colder months. The MES Homeless Shelter and the Belgravia Senior Centre were selected as recipients. Staff donated gently worn, clean, and warm clothing, towels, socks, wool, curtains, and candles. Additionally, 200g glass jars were filled with soup ingredients, enabling recipients to prepare a nourishing meal by simply adding boiling water.

Women’s Month

In August, to commemorate Women’s Month, Sisters Incorporated and the Athlone House of Strength were nominated to receive care bags. We also hosted a Sanitary Pads Drive, where staff donated sanitary products in support of the HOOP Bok Radio Gemeenskaps Projek.

The organisation Children a’Loud hosted a Women’s Day event for the mothers and grandmothers of children in their programmes and requested donations for prizes. We donated scarves and chocolates, which brought joy to the 40 women in attendance.

Festive Season CSR Initiative

To end the year, we participated in the Christmas Shoebox Initiative. Staff generously filled boxes with clothing, toys, and treats, spreading joy and cheer to the children at the Christine Revell Children’s Home. These thoughtful gifts will undoubtedly bring smiles and make a meaningful difference in their lives this holiday season.

These initiatives showcase the spirit of collaboration and compassion among staff, reinforcing our commitment to supporting the community throughout the year.
